May 9

Empty garbage cans and recycling bins littered the roads, sidewalks and boulevards late this morning, put there by strong winds that accompanied some morning thunderstorms. My recycling bin made its way several yards to the north, which leads me to believe that, for a while at least, the wind was fairly strong (pushing 30 mph, I'd guess) out of the south. We reached about 65 and did have a little clearing late in the day. The jet stream is off to our north, with a trough to our west, which should bring in some warmer air. We also have low pressure and a couple fronts, a cold to our north and a warm to our south, that could result in some wind and possible storms tomorrow.
